St. Julie National Report
posted by Roddy
Like many Atlantic region families the Mosher's made the trek to Quebec for the St. Julie round of the CMRC Eastern Nationals. MX-Mom Kim provides this report with photos
St. Julie Quebec, 10-11 August 2002
The nationals in St.Julie were good. The track was the pits compared to the weekend of the nationals at the Cooke's. The eastern riders that were there did good. Charlie and Levi were awesome!!!!
Levi won all 4 of his 60 cc classes he smoked the competition. He won a beautiful MSR helmet.
Charlie won the intermediate 125 and 250 classes. A kid by the name of Marco from Quebec that beat Charlie last year at the mini olympics in Ulverton was on the line with him in the 125 Youth class and his Dad came over and asked Charlie if he was racing 250's. Charlie replied he had no bike and he offered him his son's 450 his son raced a 250 but was so short that when the 450 stalled he couldn't get it going. So Charlie replied I'll ask my Dad. The rest is history he ended up winning the the 250 intermediate, beating a guy from Quebec that has been cleaning up the 125 & 250 Intermediate classes. He rode awesome. Oh yeah, Charlie won the Supermini easily. That is 3 National Supermini races and 3 wins!!
James was in 2nd both races after the first lap but crashed in both. He had hurt his shoulder the Sunday morning of practice for the 125 Pro class at the Nationals in Pleasant Valley. He was very dissappointed that he never got to race it. He had looked good in the practices on Saturday. He shouldn't have tried racing in St. Julie his shoulder is not heeled. He is hoping for it to be fine for Fredericton. He will be racing Intermedite.
Josie is faster and faster all the time on her 125. She placed 7th in the youth 100-125 cc class. The fastest girl and ahead of a lot of boy's. She crashed in both her Ladies moto's on Saturday and Sunday, she was running a strong 2nd in both races. She is fine but getting very fast and we know that bumps and crashes are going to happen.
Darren Marshall from outside of Truro rode well also. He was 7th in the Supermini class.
Johnny Montes had bad luck. He was running a strong 4th, an easy coast to qualifying for the race on Sunday but crashed. He didn't make it in the LCQ.
Heidi Cooke is flying, she didn't qualify but she sure blew the pant's off of some of them. If she didn't have blue number plates she look's and rides with the best of the men!!
Ryan Lockhart had bad luck I feel for him. In the 125 race he got hit in the tire and it did something and he ended up burning the brake up. He was 13 and 0 in the 125 and 0 and 14th in the 250.
Mitchell Cooke looked good. He was 12th and 17th. Jamie Bird was 0 and 16th in the 125cc.
All the best to you guy's and a big thank-you from all of us back here that love the mx site and the work you do to maintain it.
See Ya Later Kim Mosher
