CGIWrap Error: Script Execution Failed
CGIWrap Error: Script Execution Failed

CGIWrap encountered an error while attempting to execute this script:

Error Message: Permission denied
Error Number: 13
This message usually indicates there is a problem with the script itself. Often this indicates either that the #! line of the script is incorrect, or the script was uploaded in binary mode instead of ascii mode. Check to make sure that the script does not have control-M's at the end of every line. That will prevent it from executing. An easy fix that takes care of this most of the time is to put '#!/.../perl --' instead of '#!/.../perl' on the first line of the script. This is typically a problem if the script was edited or uploaded from a DOS/Windows/Macintosh station to a unix based server.

If you are not the owner of this script, please forward this error and the URL that caused it to the script owner. That is often the component in the URL right after /cgiwrap/.

Oooops!
posted by Roddy

Well, I think we over-did it a little with the MXdN video! For the moment the media gallery is not available and won't be until November. Read on if you're interested to know why,

You see, we are allowed 15 Gigs of traffic each month my two (2) atlanticmx servers:

1) www.atlanticmx.com

- 15 Gigs per month of traffic allowed
- All the news pages and now also includes the bulletin board and classifieds

2) media.atlanticmx.com

- 15 Gigs per month of traffic allowed
- contains all the pictures and video files from the last three years

Ok, so what happened?

Well, my web host monitors the traffic on these servers and if they detect it is generating more traffic than what is allowed, they send a warning message by email. I got that email just a few days after I posted the MXdN video (so this comes as no surprise, really). Still reading?

So, just how much traffic took place on the media server before the shut down? 1 Gig is the equivalent of 1,000 Megabytes. The MXdN video came in two forms: high resolution (33 Mb) and low resolution (11 Mb). Can we measure the traffic? You bet.... I know, for example the high res version was downloaded around 3,000 times and the low res version was clicked around 500 times. Let's do the math (can you tell I don't have much to do at the moment??):

Low Res video traffic

11 Mb x 500 downloads = 5,500 Megabytes, or 5,5 Gigs of traffic

High Res video traffic

33 Mb x 3,000 downloads = 99,000 Megabytes, or 99,0 gigs of traffic

So, in all, more than 100 Gigs of traffic in October. Since I'm only allowed to have 15 Gigs of traffic on this server, you can see why the web host shut it down. Kind sucks, but that's the way it goes. If you haven't seen the video I guess you'll have to wait until next month!

You are six times plus, over your allowed traffic limit!!! If you were speeding in a car at that rate you would probably face the DEATH PENALITY,That video is very good and there are links to it from other sites, meaning this will keep happening, can you ask for more gigs from the provider, or does that infringe on atlanticmx's budget OR and this is a big or "remove the vid" (did i just say that)

Hi Mark..

Yes, we are certainly over budget traffic-wise for this month!

It is possible for me to buy extra bandwidth to get the media section back online, here's the breakdown from my web host to purchase additional traffic:

1.) 1 extra Gig ($6) [per month, in USD $$$]
2.) 2 extra Gigs ($12)
3.) 3 extra Gigs ($18)
4.) 4 extra Gigs ($24)
5.) 5 extra Gigs ($30)
6.) 6 extra Gigs ($36)
7.) 7 extra Gigs ($42)
8.) 8 extra Gigs ($48)
9.) 9 extra Gigs ($54)
10.) 10 extra Gigs ($60)
11.) 11 extra Gigs ($66)
12.) 12 extra Gigs ($72)
13.) 13 extra Gigs ($78)
14.) 14 extra Gigs ($84)
15.) 15 extra Gigs ($90)
16.) 20 extra Gigs ($120)
17.) 25 extra Gigs ($150)

So, in order to just get the media section back on-line, I would have to get another 100 Gigs of traffic at least. According to the table above, this would cost me:

$150 (25Gigs) x 4 = $600 USD

Obviously I'm not going to pay $600 to get the media section back online, but hey, this was an extreme month.

Even so, I want to say that without the sponsorship of this site by PRO TECH Suspension, Action Cycles and VP Fuels THIS SITE WOULD NOT OPERATE AT ALL!

If you have any reason to buy a product which any of these guys sell, please consider purchasing it from them because they are supporting all of us through the continued operation of this site!

And while I'm at it.... we are always looking for new sponsors for the site, so if you are interested in supporting Atlantic Canadian motocross, please contact me!
