Richmond Kawasaki's Darcy Lange got a little surprise from his employer at the (AMA) National Arenacross awards ceremony Sunday night - Kawasaki slid him a $100,000.00 cheque!

That'd put a smile on my face too!

Well done Darcy. Much deserved for years of hard work on one of the most gruelling race circuits in the world.

In other AX news, legend Buddy Antunez has hung up his helmet. No longer willing to hang it out with the young guns, Antunez has thrown in the towel.

"If I don't feel 100% confident every time, before I get out on my motorcycle," said Antunez. "I am spending more time on the ground and in recovery than I am on my bike."

"I feel that I have done everything that I can on a motorcycle and have achieved everything that I can." said Antunez. "Looking back, I have five championships, I was able to ride supercross and make a living out of something that I love."

How cool is that?

A new era in AX begins with a Canadian owning the title and one of the greatest veterans calling it quits. Now we just need to get a few more Canucks down there...
