Since 1999 AtlanticMX.com has been the online home to hundreds of racers, recreational riders, business owners, and enthusiasts of the sport of motocross and off-road racing in Atlantic Canada.
1999: When it all began!
AtlanticMX.com was originally created so everyone involved in the sport, in one way or another, could have a place on the Internet they could meet, share stories, stay in touch, and buy and sell their equipment. A place for everyone of all ages to come and share his or her enjoyment of this great sport.
When AtlanticMX.com began, it was small and easy to manage. As time went on and AtlanticMX.com grew in popularity, I found the task of managing the site and it's content increasingly difficult. Moreso since I first moved to New Zealand, and now Germany!
2001: Not long before I left Canada!
Unfortunately, because of the increased demand on my time and resources, I guess you could say the pressure got to me a bit. I like anyone, can make bad decisions. At the time, making the site a pay subscriber based model seemed the only fair and viable option available to solve the problems I was experiencing with the website. In retrospect, this was not a good decision; penalizing everyone for the actions of a few was not the solution. I apologize to everyone for the hassle!
Recently, an old friend of mine (Mike Fraser) called me on the phone here in Germany. We talked and caught up. Mike offered me his insight and feedback about AtlanticMX.com. He offered to help me out and take up some of the responsibility of managing the site.
In our talks his suggestions about how to make the site FREE again for users and make the site better for you and me made sense.
2004: Our 5th year of coverage!
Mike has come up with ideas for the site and ideas for promoting the sport in the region that has stirred up the original excitement I had back in 1999 when AtlanticMX.com was first created.
After hours of discussions via the phone and Internet with him, I am pleased to announce AtlanticMX.com is once again FREE for all to use and enjoy.
Mike has agreed to become the regional AMX representative. His ideas for this season are very exciting and I hope everyone supports what he is proposing. I'll leave it to him to explain in more detail.

This is Mike. Roddy, thanks for the kind words.
That's right AtlanticMX.com IS ONCE AGAIN FREE!
For those of you who don't know me, I hope to get a chance to meet you this spring, summer, and fall at the events throughout the region.
I'll give you a little background on me and then get right into what AMX is going to do this year. I grew up in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. I have known Roddy from way back in the day when we were young and indestructible. (So we thought) LOL. Over the last 10 years I have lived in Vancouver, but as well in Toronto and a few major cities in the US. My wife Kelly and I recently grabbed the opportunity to move back to the region and are exceptionally glad we are back among friends and family.
I have been riding motorcycles for over 20 years (although you would never know it to watch me ride hahahaha) it was a few years ago while out in Vancouver I got back into riding motocross. I don't know why I ever got out of it in the first place? (Oh yeah, I wanted a GSX-R 750!) But I am glad to be back riding motocross. What a rush! I am 30 something going on and staying at 19. hahaha.
In order to help Roddy with the site I have offered to be a moderator of AtlanticMX.com. This year I am hoping to bring the sport of motocross, off-road racing and AMX into more of a public spotlight. This year, if all goes well, there will be an AMX Tent at all the regional races and other events like the Fast by Design Freestyle shows. Please be sure to come by and say Hi.
The AMX tent will be providing racers, family, friends, and fans with souvenirs from the races. We will be selling AMX tees, hats, long sleeves, bike decals, and other goodies as the season progresses. First edition tees, long sleeves, and hats (all limited supplies) will be available on a first come first serve basis at the Kingston Race May 2nd 2004.
AMX T-shirts, hats, hoodies
AMX gear is top quality, comfortable clothing with exciting and fresh AMX designs. All your friends will be asking where you got your shirts, hats, hoodies and asking what is AMX? You'll have to tell them to come to the races to get one of their own. AMX gear will allow you to let everyone know that you are a MOTOCROSS RACER, a MOTO-MOM, a MOTO-DAD, or A CRAZED FAN of the sport!
Motocross races, in my opinion (and I am sure in yours too), are the most exciting outdoor summer sporting events we have in Atlantic Canada. Let's share that enthusiasm with others!
If enough AMX clothing, hats, posters, and bike decals are sold throughout the 2004 race season, my goal is to raise enough money so at the end of the year we can have 2004 AMX Championship Wear and Gear made for the top regional racers in EACH CLASS. The AMX Championship Gear will be presented at the year end awards banquet.
Media Gallery additions
I will also be filming and taking photos of the races. Posting up clips and pics in the media section of the race highlights. Be sure to check them out. You never know when you will be on camera. The Wednesday How to Tips will continue each week for as long as I can come up with fresh ideas. I also would like to hear from you and stories about riding adventures for us to post up on the site. Race Results
AMX will be posting the race results from each event so everyone will know who finished where. Your name is going to be posted after each race, if you don’t DNF. hehe
This is going to be an exciting year in Atlantic Motocross and off-road racing. I know I am looking forward to each moment and getting to share it all with you. Thanks for your support; I look forward to meeting you and 'roosting' some of you (nothing personal, it's just racing haha). Let's make the 2004 racing season and the all new AMX line an exciting and successful one.
