Lockhart: "I am just a small little guy"

While he may not indeed be the burliest dude on the circuit Nova Scotia's Ryan Lockhart is certainly one of the favourites for the 125 East crown. Since his dramatic switch from KTM's a few months ago, Ryan has adapted well to the new Blair Morgan Racing Yamaha's and today is preparing his trip out west.
The 2004 Canadian nationals begin this weekend in Nanaimo, B.C. and we badgered Ryan with a few questions before he set out on the Trans Canada.

Not too much just gettin my stuff ready to go out west.
Cool. Are you pumped up or what?
Yeah, I am ready...more so than other years.
How do you think you will finish in the 250 class against the likes of JSR, Dowd, Johnson, Lange and company?
Well I would say with a good start I can be around 8-12.
How do you like the Blair Morgan Yamahas? Are they better than your KTM's?
They are really good.

Well my Yamahas are really good they are fast and handle well and they are just stock....and they dont let me down every weekend.
What about the suspension and motors? Are they really stock?
On my 250 I am running Enzo suspension and a stock motor with a Pro Circuit pipe.
Do you think it will be enough to compete with 450's on the starts? (ie. Johnson, Treadwell and Dube)?
Well I hope. Its going to be hard at Nanaimo (season opener next week) because it is fast and hard packed.
If I got the motor done I think it will be too hard to hang onto. I am just a small little guy. LOL
Yeah, true. Hey, you've had a chance to scope out some of your competition, how do you think it will go in the 125 East?
125 east is going to be good. I love my bike. And the one I have now is just stock.
I see you and Mitch had some good battles last weekend in Fox Hollow ... how was it?
It was good ...he is riding really well right now.
So how does it feel to be all over the web and magazines in Canada? Do you feel you've reached Rock Star status yet?
