Yamaha's Doug Dubach is the new 250cc Canadian
National Champion.
The heavily
favoured Dubach did not disappoint his sponsors,
or the spectators, as he rode some very spirited
rides en route to clinching the CMRC
championship Sunday August 13th in La Tuque,
Quebec with one round remaining in the series.
Dubach's
consistent performances have netted him 378
points to date, while Suzuki/CRS Team Safety's
Marco Dube moved into second place at La Tuque
with 248 points ahead of Richmond Motorsports/Kawasaki
rider Darcy Lange in third with 245
points.
Next week sees
the season finale in Walton, Ontario. |

| In
the 125cc East class it's been an almost perfect
season for Michigan-native, Two
Wheel/Pro-Action/Kawasaki sponsored Josh Woods -
right up until he broke his thumb at the Loretta
Lynn AMA Amateur nationals last week.
Until that time, Woods hadn't lost a moto, but
he struggled through competition Sunday to earn
enough points to secure the championship.
Instead, it was
a Honda sweep in the 125 class.
Connecticut Manchester Honda's Mike Treadwell
took home the glory as he went 2-1 for the day's
overall. Finishing close behind was Team
Honda/Blackfoot Motosports Doug Dehaan (1-3) and
third for the day was teammate Jason Thomas
(7-2).
Despite the
injury, Woods' total of 163 points allowed him
to easily outdistance his series rivals Team
Honda/Blackfoot Motosports Doug Dehaan, who
finished with 152 points, and the the young
Titan Racing/Suzuki-backed Derrick Fisher with
148 points. Impressively, Mike Treadwell
finishes the series in fourth place (127 points)
despite missing the opening round in Barrie,
Ontario.
The 125cc East
versus West Shootout takes place next week at
the famed Walton 'Grand National'. There,
previously crowned 125cc West Champion, Team
Honda/Blackfoot Motosports rider Sean Hamblin,
and other West riders will take on the best in
the East (minus Josh Woods who will not be
racing).
