Fredericton
Motocross, 25-26 August 2001
Random notes:
Adam Turner has
definitely wicked it up since he was last in the
Atlantic region. He beat most of the pros on
Saturday.
Levi Smith may be
leading the 60cc class after going 1-1 on Sunday.
Levi's top competitor Davey Fraser has a troublesome
knee injury to deal with. Drew Bezanson and Zack
Heydeman looked great too.
Ryan Lockhart's
mechanic "Nick" grabbed one of Ryan's 125's
and layed a whoopin on the Beginner class. Nobody
can goon it like this guy.
Bob Steeves continues
to thump the boys in 250 Junior. If he keeps it up
he might find himself with yellow plates next year.
What got into Keith
Ratchford? Someone must have slipped him some
go-fast pills last week because he was one the gas!
Intermediate KTM 125
rider Aaron Pritchard seems to be back in the saddle
again - many were commenting on his good results
Saturday and Sunday.
New England Pro rider
Ryan Scripture showed up with his Yamaha's and raced
very well. He and his family are really nice and a
welcome addition to our Atlantic races. He brought
some other racers with him, too - nice to see.
The AMA U.S. national
in Binghampton, N.Y. went off at the same time last
weekend and that's where Mitch Cooke was. He not
only qualified to race the main 250 national Sunday, but
finished 28-36. Nice going Mitch! Special
thanks to Heidi MacDonald for passing that info along.
Okay, here's some pics
from Saturday and Sunday...
