Changes
in store for Kingston MX
15 August 2000
"I just wanted to
drop you a line and let you know we are making some
changes to the Kingston Track for the next race. It is
funny because after the last race Kirk said, 'The next
race will be easy, we do not need to do any major
preparation.' Well how quickly he changes his mind,
never satisfied with the track, he always tries to make
it better.
The big double has been
made bigger, but for those of us who can not even come
close to jumping it, Kirk put in a landing ramp like a
tabletop. The turn after the big double is now a sharper
left hander going into a wide sweeping right that has
been carved out of the woods. This nice sweeper leads on
to a long tabletop that was improved from the 'baby-T'
that was there. This will hopefully change the dynamic
of the next section.
The largest change to
the track is the addition of a tunnel, so as to gain
access to the infield. The finish line tabletop has
enough of an elevation change to make it the best spot
for the placement of the tunnel.
I would also like to
let people know that the local Lions Club always puts on
a breakfast in the morning. Hotel information in our
area is as follows:
- Fundy Spray (10 min.
from track) 825-3424
- Mid Valley Motel (15
min. from track) 825-3433
Registration takes
place from 7am to 9am in the morning, a late
registration fee applies after 9am.
I think I have covered
all the bases, I know Kingston's Race (3 September 2000)
will the best ever and I hope to see everyone
there."
