2001 edition News and Stuff from Atlantic Canada's MX scene
Cooke perfect at Meteghan

Machine Gun Mitchell Cooke (Two Wheel/Pro-Action/Kawasaki) had a perfect day in Meteghan Sunday as he swept all six of the Pro motos en route to another successful weekend.  

The only riders able to keep him in sight were J&M Motorsports Jamie Bird (during the first 125ccc moto) and Tucker Rocky-backed Johnny Montes in the 250 and Open classes.  Despite finding himself on the ground more than once this weekend, Cooke would not be deterred and fought back each time for the win.

Bird and Kawasaki veteran Blaine Prest would finish second and third, respectively, in the 125cc class while Montes and Pro-Cycle backed Roddy MacLeod would finish second and third, respectively, in each the 250 and GP Pro-Am classes.

The Intermediate class saw Boo Green's 125cc domination come to an end with rookie Intermediate Ryan Silliker taking the overall victory on his #26 Kawasaki.  Green salvaged second on the day however followed by Arthur Smith in third on the Suzuki.

In the 250 Intermediates Pro-Cycle/AXO/Pro Tech backed Adam Turner had a great day finishing first overall.  Local Adrien Comeau put in a strong ride for second and Fast by Design/Yamaha 426 mounted Paul Smith had one of his best results on the year with a third place overall.  Hey Smitty, it's been a long time coming!
