Why is the Walton TransCan at the forefront
of the wave of enthusiasm
for motocross? We start by running qualifying
races across the country to
establish the top 42 riders in each category.
All winter long the racers
train and plan to make the cut. Add one of
the finest outdoor courses in
the country. It puts fear into the most daring,
punishes the fittest and
challenges the most skilled. It is lovingly
groomed and devilishly crafted.
A three moto format is a test of speed,
stamina, preparation and discipline
from which will emerge but one champion.
A professional event organization lets the
racers focus on what they came
for and presents a spectacle that leaves
spectators in awe.
In 2000 over 12,000 participants and spectators
were immersed in
the Walton experience. The colour, the
pageantry, the aerobatics, the
roar of 42 bikes into the first turn and the
intensity of competition brings
everyone back year after year.
The Walton TransCan is an annual opportunity for
Canadian motocross enthusiasts
to come together for four days of rivalry,
socializing and family fun. Nine
years ago the concept of this event was received
with enthusiasm and has
grown by leaps and bounds. Covered by national
television for the last five
years it has drawn participants from Alaska to
Florida to California, Great
Britain, Belgium, South Africa and every
province in Canada. Tremendous
community support ensures an enthusiastic staff
providing a full range of
services to the event from gate control, to full
course meals and a program
of entertainment.
There is the sharing of a common bond between
the racers whether 5 year
old beginners, 50 year old Veterans or rising
stars of the Pros, their families
and supporters that flourishes over the four
days of a shared experience.
On site camping or local accommodation are
available, with bike wash facility,
delicious, economical, nutritious full course
meals served, primitive showers,
live nightly entertainment, security and curfew
maintained, campfires with
wood available, hand wash stations, and
much more.
Our goal is make this event the highlight of the
racing year for everyone
who attends regardless of race results.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I pay?
Entries must be accompanied by a cheque or money
order payable to Tite Racing
Promotions Inc. in Canadian funds to be
valid. Post dated cheques are not
acceptable. Cheques will not be cashed
until entry is confirmed. Post entry
will be an additional $20 per class.
What else do I need to know?
Confirmations will be mailed out following
completion of regional qualifiers
and after that on an as received basis. This
will include a complete participants
information package. The order of preference for
first moto gate position,
resolution of number conflicts and the order of
standby entries are determined
by qualifier position and date of entry. Your
confirmation letter should
be available at sign in if there are any
problems with registration so hang
on to it.
Can I cancel my entry?
Yes, a written request must be received by July
31 with a copy of the original
confirmation mailing received by mail. No
charge before June 13. Refunds
less handling charges will be mailed out
following the event.
Can I get updates by email?
Sure! Just send a request to:
motocross@motocrosscanada.ca
Join our email list and get current info and
lots more
When should I enter?
This is a limited entry event with up to a full
gate of 42 in each class.
Date received will be the deciding factor in
determining order of entry
after seeding qualifier positions. Pre-entries
for riders who rode their
qualifiers must be received no later than June
13. Gate positions allocated
to each region (quantity based on regional
membership) will be assigned
at that time. After June 13 entries will be
accepted on a first come basis.
We recommend that if you aren’t sure about a
qualified position in the first
class of choice, indicate a second or alternate
class in the column provided.
Entries received after July 31 will be processed
at the event as post entries.
We recommend that you send entries immediately
as cheques are not cashed
until the entry is confirmed in June.
What rules are in effect for this event?
Refer to the CMRC (Canadian Motorsport
Racing Club) rule book for all rules.
Do I need to qualify?
In order to pre-enter you must have participated
in at least one qualifier
so that you show up on the results list for the
class you are entering from
your respective region.
Can I still qualify to enter ?
If your qualifier position is lower you
may still get a starting position
depending upon whether riders qualified ahead of
you enter or if other
regions’ entries do not fill their allocated
spots. We recommend that if
you aren’t sure about a qualified position in
the first class of choice
then indicate an alternate class in the line
provided on the entry form.
What is a standby entry?
We maintain a list of riders who want to ride in
a particular class but
who were unable to qualify or were late
entering. If there are cancellations
or no shows the gate will be filled from the
standby list in the order entries
were received.
What is an alternate entry?
This is the class you want to enter if your
first choice is not available.
I didn’t ride any qualifiers, can I enter?
Only as a post entry at the event. There is no
guarantee that positions
will be available so you take your chances.
I am a Beginner
Beginner classes are progressive so that you
advance as soon as sufficient
points are accumulated. Therefore if you believe
you will be advanced before
the qualifiers are completed we recommend that
you try to qualify as a Junior.
You cannot “drop back” even if you qualify
as a Beginner but become a Junior
in June.
Why is there no 250 Beginner class?
Not many beginners ride 250s and those that do
can still qualify and ride
in the GP class.
Can Pros enter amateur classes?
Pros who are in the top 20 of the 250 Pro
National series are NOT eligible
to ride amateur classes such as youth, +25 and
vet master .
What is the race format?
There are three motos to decide each class
title. The amateur trophy
presentation
will take place Saturday evening.
What is the Race of Champions?
These are three invitational Races for
super mini, juniors and
intermediates
will be added to the Sunday pro program. The top
14 finishers in each championship
class will be invited to participate in a one
moto, winner takes all, shoot
out for overall bragging rights.
