Factory 909 handlebars
by Chris Landry

I have used FMF 909 bars for one season with more bad points than good points.

First the bars are fairly stylish and offer good bends. The gun color looks great and is also very scratch resistant. The bars have a knurled area for the grips to stick to also. They have bar plugs to which help dirt being pushed into the bar in a crash or fall.

Some points to remember are that the cross brace is not glued to the bar like Renthal bars. I first noticed this after my first ride with these bars . The cross brace moves when the bars flex from bumps and jumps causing the bar to be forced out of shape when the bars flex back. After a hard ride you will noticed that the bars are not straight and are twisted. You have to loosen the cross brace clamps and reposition everything which takes careful alignment. And this happens every ride.

In Fredericton for instance, I can hear the bars making a cracking noise on the straightaways. This is caused as the bars flex the clamp moves and when it rebounds it flexes another way and the clamp is always moving. And before every moto I crank on the 6 mm Allen heads with a ratchet. And I know for sure they are tight before my moto.

I also noticed or found that these bars bend fairly easily????? Maybe its just me but I'm on my second set. Next year I'll be back with Renthals which I have never noticed any problems. I have to say from experience that Renthals are better overall.

CGIWrap Error: Script Execution Failed
CGIWrap Error: Script Execution Failed

CGIWrap encountered an error while attempting to execute this script:

Error Message: Permission denied
Error Number: 13
This message usually indicates there is a problem with the script itself. Often this indicates either that the #! line of the script is incorrect, or the script was uploaded in binary mode instead of ascii mode. Check to make sure that the script does not have control-M's at the end of every line. That will prevent it from executing. An easy fix that takes care of this most of the time is to put '#!/.../perl --' instead of '#!/.../perl' on the first line of the script. This is typically a problem if the script was edited or uploaded from a DOS/Windows/Macintosh station to a unix based server.

If you are not the owner of this script, please forward this error and the URL that caused it to the script owner. That is often the component in the URL right after /cgiwrap/.
